ExpertCoach.Co AEO Assessment Report

Site Readiness: 7.0 · LLM Visibility: 5.9
Cited in 26 of 30 AI Answers, Named in 21, Recommended in Almost None
ExpertCoach.Co sells ICF credentialing exam preparation to coaches pursuing ACC, PCC and MCC. In the United States you hold 56 ranked search terms against 46 and 25 for your two closest rivals, and five of your own pages fill the results when someone searches your brand.
You told us AI assistants never surface you. They do. We put 30 buyer questions to five surfaces — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview — and a page from your site was used as a source in 26 of the 30 answers. Across the whole run yours is the second most cited website of any kind, behind only the certifying body and well ahead of CoachCertify. The problem is what comes next. Gemini and Perplexity read your pages and then write the answer without naming you, and when a buyer asks which platform is best the recommendation goes to a competitor. Being read is not being credited, and being mentioned is not being chosen.
The reason sits off-site. The sources these assistants lean on — the certifying body, the video platform behind the largest share of citations, every review site we checked — hold no record of you. Coaches already vouch for you in their communities. Just not where the machines look.

The Assistants Read Your Pages. They Just Do Not Say Your Name
What ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview actually do with 30 real buyer questions
Every Question We Asked, and Who Used Your Pages
30 questions, five surfaces, 14 September 2026: Google's AI Overview plus ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, all with live web search. Nothing is sampled. Used as a source means the assistant pulled a page from expertcoach.co when it built the answer, which is not the same as saying your name.

A page from expertcoach.co was used as a source in 26 of the 30 answers, and the brand was named out loud in 21. Counting every citation on every surface, expertcoach.co is the second most cited website of any kind in the whole run: 176 citations across 26 questions, against coachingfederation.org at 180 across 25, CoachCertify at 71 across 18 and CredentialPrep at 36 across 15. For a site earning 21 visits a month from Google, that is a far stronger position in AI answers than in search. Two things are going wrong, and neither is visibility. Attribution: Gemini and Perplexity use your pages on 23 of the 30 questions but name you on only 14 and 11, so they read the site and write the answer without crediting it. Corroboration: on the branded question every citation was your own URL, and on the trust question the only independent source any assistant could find was a domain checker listing, because no G2 or Trustpilot profile exists. Of the 140 citations naming an exact page, 51 went to blog posts, 41 to product pages and 30 to the homepage; the most cited page of all is an article, /post/icf-credentialing-exam-guide/, used on 14 of the 30 questions. Four questions return nothing on any surface: which Code of Ethics version the exam tests, total exam cost, how long to prepare, and ACC credential requirements. All four are already commissioned in the content plan. This run supersedes the six question ChatGPT probe used in the first draft of this report, which is preserved in the client record.
Google AI Overview Results
| Query Type | Query | AIO Triggered? | Prospect Rank | Top Results |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Branded | What is ExpertCoach.Co and what does it offer for ICF exam preparation? | Yes | #2 | Your homepage at #2 with five of your own pages inside the top 15. Neither competitor appears in the top 20. |
| Competitor Branded (diagnostic only) | What is CoachCertify and what does it offer for ICF ACC exam preparation? | Yes | Absent from top 20 | coachcertify.com (#4). Diagnostic only — excluded from scoring. |
| Category | What is the best ICF ACC exam prep or practice test platform? | Yes | #7 | Your own round-up post at #7, ahead of coachcertify.com (#8). credentialprep.com absent from the top 20. |
| Category | Where can I find good ICF PCC exam practice questions? | Yes | #9 | /icf-exam-practice/ at #9. Neither competitor appears in the top 20 — this is the one vertical you hold alone. |
| Comparison | Compare ExpertCoach.Co vs CoachCertify vs CredentialPrep for ICF exam preparation. | Yes | #2 | Your homepage at #2 and your comparison post ahead of CoachCertify's competing post (#7). credentialprep.com absent from the top 20. |
| Long-tail / Transactional | What are the best resources for ICF ACC exam practice questions? | Yes | #10 | /icf-exam-practice/ at #10, well ahead of coachcertify.com (#19). A Facebook thread naming ExpertCoach.co ranks #3 — above your own page. |
Every one of the six queries triggered a Google AI Overview. What that AI Overview actually said, and whom it cited, could not be captured — all six returned in Google's collapsed, load-on-demand form, so the rendered text and citation list were not available in this snapshot. We are reporting this as unknown rather than scoring it as a zero: no conclusion should be drawn from this exercise about whether you appear in Google's AI answers. What the underlying organic results do show is solid: you rank on page one for five of the six queries, you outrank CoachCertify on three of them, and CredentialPrep does not appear in the top 20 for any of the six. The one detail worth sitting with is the long-tail query, where a Facebook community thread that mentions ExpertCoach.co ranks at #3 — three places above your own page. Other people's descriptions of you are outperforming your own.
Citation Surface Analysis
| Platform | Presence | Strength | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yes | Own page, 200+ followers | Strongest surface you have. Four community posts in ICF ACC/PCC/MCC groups name ExpertCoach.co directly, the most recent about three months old ('Passing the ICF PCC exam with help from ExpertCoach.co'). Real, recent, positive, and in the exact peer community you sell to. | |
| Yes | 2 on-topic threads | r/Coaching 'Just passed the ICF ACC exam!' (rank 1, 40+ comments) links your /icf-exam-practice page as the practice test the poster used; an r/lifecoaching thread quotes one of your blog posts. Both earned, neither prompted. | |
| YouTube | No | 140 mentions / 16,590 AI search volume | The single largest citation source in this category, and there is no ExpertCoach channel indexed. Every result for the brand query was an unrelated 'expert coach' video. This is the most expensive absence in the set. |
| coachingfederation.org (ICF) | No | 138 mentions / 8,978 AI search volume | The certifying body is the most cited source in the run, 180 citations across 25 of the 30 questions, and its indexed pages carry no reference to your brand. Nothing you publish outranks being named by the organisation whose exam you prepare people for. |
| tandemcoach.co | No | 92 mentions / 4,251 AI search volume | An independent coaching site cited on 20 of the 30 questions, 50 citations, the fourth most cited domain in the whole run. A citation target, not a competitor. |
| coachingoutsidethebox.net | No | 63 mentions / 2,476 AI search volume | Cited on 17 of the 30 questions, 46 citations, the fifth most cited domain in the run. |
| Trustpilot | No | CoachCertify: 4.0/5, 3 reviews | Your rival holds the only review platform rating among the three domains. Trustpilot was cited 15 times in the run and never for you. Worse, when we asked whether anyone had a bad experience with ExpertCoach, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity all reached for a domain checker listing, because it was the only independent source about you that exists. |
| G2 | No | No category fit found | Expected — G2's taxonomy skews to enterprise software, not niche exam-prep tools. Recorded for completeness, not treated as a gap. |
| expertcoach.co (owned) | Yes | 45 mentions / 1,900 AI search volume | Bright spot: across the 30 question run your own domain is the second most cited website of any kind, 176 citations on 26 of the 30 questions, behind only the certifying body at 180 and ahead of CoachCertify at 71. Your content is doing the work, it is just doing it alone. |
We checked six citation surfaces for your brand and mapped the nine domains AI actually leans on in this category. The shape is unusual and it is the single most useful finding in this report: your owned content is already the fifth most-cited source domain in the category's AI answers, ahead of most coach-training schools — but you rank only sixth of twenty when AI names a brand (8 mentions against the certifying body's 27), and you are on two of the six third-party surfaces. CoachCertify sits at #12 with 4 mentions and CredentialPrep does not register as a top-level domain at all, so you are the strongest of the three commercial players by this measure. The gap is not awareness. It is that every credible outside voice in your category — the certifying body, the video platform carrying 16,590 AI search volume, the two independent coaching sites cited in almost every answer, and the one review platform your rival is on — currently has nothing to say about you. The coaches who passed using your product are saying it on Facebook and Reddit instead, where it counts for less.

Fastest Site of the Three — With No Structured Data on the Page That Ranks
How the site is built, and where the build works against AI retrieval
Rendering, Speed and Bot Access
Bright SpotStart here because it rules out the most common cause of AI invisibility, and it is not your problem. The homepage is served as pre-rendered static HTML from a content-delivery network, and all four pages we analysed returned their full text to a non-browser request. Machines can read this site.
Speed is the best in the comparison set on two of three measures: performance 96, accessibility 100, technical SEO 100, with FCP 0.7 s, LCP 1.3 s, CLS 0.002 and TBT 0 ms. The root document responds in 10 ms. For context, CoachCertify records 99 / 94 / 100 with a 0.4 s first paint and a layout-shift score of 0.052; CredentialPrep records 96 / 100 / 92 and takes 830 ms to return its root document. Your accessibility and technical-SEO scores are the highest of the three.
The one structural cost is architectural. Your marketing site lives on one host and your actual product — the flashcards game and the free ACC and PCC mock exams — lives on a separate subdomain. Both competitors keep marketing and product on a single domain. Every link a coach earns for your practice tool builds authority for a host that carries none of your content, and the free tools that would be your most citable assets are not indexable pages on the site AI is reading. ChatGPT did cite the flashcards game once, so the split is not fatal — but it is a self-inflicted division of a small footprint.

Structured Data Stops Exactly Where the Traffic Starts
CriticalStructured data is the machine-readable summary a page hands to a search engine or an assistant. Your coverage is inconsistent in the worst possible pattern: strong on the two pages that earn least, and entirely absent on the two that earn most.
The homepage carries organisation, website, contact and question-and-answer markup. The ACC programme page carries product, offer, brand, breadcrumb and question-and-answer markup. The free practice-test page — the page ranking #2, #3, #9 and #10 across the queries we tested — carries none. The blog index carries none either, and no page we analysed identifies its content as an article or names an author.
Both competitors are more consistent. CredentialPrep attaches organisation, person, software-application, offer and credential markup to every page including its blog, which is how an assistant learns there is a named human behind the product. CoachCertify attaches breadcrumb and question-and-answer markup to its deep credential pages. You are the only one of the three with pages that describe themselves to machines not at all.
This matters most for the practice-test page. It is your commercial asset, it is what coaches link to on Reddit, and it currently tells an AI assistant nothing about what it is, who made it, whether it is free, or what credential it prepares you for.

Cookie Banners Are Polluting Every Heading Outline
MediumA page's heading outline is how a machine works out what the page is about and which chunk answers which question. On all four of your pages the cookie-consent widget contributes two identical second-level headings reading 'Cookie preferences'. On the practice-test page that means two of six second-level headings — a third of the outline — describe a consent dialogue rather than the product. On the homepage it is two of seven.
Two smaller items sit alongside it. The ACC programme page's main heading reads 'Exam Prep & Practice' — a fragment, missing the ICF ACC qualifier that appears correctly in the page title. And your language targeting is broad: ten language alternates declared on every page, with eight translated locale paths live, for a business we are assessing in the United States. Neither competitor declares any. That is not a defect, but it is a lot of surface area to maintain for a niche product, and thin translations dilute rather than extend reach.
Worth naming for balance: your canonical URLs are clean and present on all four pages, your social preview images are set on all four, and every page has exactly one main heading. CredentialPrep's homepage has no main heading at all and its pass-guarantee page has an empty canonical.

412 Words and 21 Images on the Page Doing the Most Work
Whether there is enough text on the page for a machine to quote
The Highest-Value Page Is the Thinnest Page
HighAn AI assistant can only quote what is written down. Your free practice-test page carries 412 words and 21 images — roughly one image for every twenty words. It is the page that ranks #2 for 'icf acc practice exam', #3 for 'icf acc exam practice questions' and 'icf acc exam sample questions', #9 for the PCC query and #10 for the long-tail query. It is the page Reddit links to. And it gives a machine four real headings and 412 words to work with.
To be clear about the images: images are good for search. They earn Google Image and Discover visibility and they make a page usable. The issue is not that they exist — it is that on this page they are carrying explanation that exists nowhere in text. A screenshot of a sample question is invisible as a sample question unless the question is also written out.
Your homepage is 1,194 words against 1,740 for CoachCertify and 1,720 for CredentialPrep — around 1.4x thinner than both. Your ACC programme page at 1,746 words is the deepest single page in the whole comparison set, which proves the capability exists in-house. It just has not reached the commercial pages.
| Page | Words | Images | Words per image | Content headings | Internal links |

First-Mover Advantage: Nobody in This Category Has Built a Q&A Hub
Bright SpotYou already have question-and-answer blocks with machine-readable markup on your homepage and your ACC programme page. That is real and it puts you level with CoachCertify, which carries the same markup on three of its four pages. What none of the three domains has is a single, indexable, deep question-and-answer resource for ICF credentialing — the format that AI assistants pull from most readily because each question is a self-contained, quotable answer.
CredentialPrep has a /help page. CoachCertify has an anchor section on its homepage. Neither is a standing resource. Meanwhile the questions coaches are actually asking are visible and countable: the search terms you already rank for include 'icf acc exam sample questions', 'icf credentialing exam', 'icf practice exam free', 'acc exam', 'icf acc exam sample questions pdf' and 'icf code of ethics 2025' — and the November 2026 PCC-MCC exam change is a live, high-anxiety topic that both you and CredentialPrep have posted about and ChatGPT cited from both.
This is the cheapest durable advantage available in the report: the format is proven to be retrievable, the demand is measured rather than assumed, and the category is empty.

Page One for Practice Questions, Page Two for the Category Itself
Where the brand shows up, where it does not, and what the keyword set says about positioning
Strong on Practice Intent, Weak on Category Intent
HighWe tested nine searches to diagnose the pattern: six AI-style prompts and three core category terms. The AI side of that probe has since been superseded by the 30 question, five surface run in section 02; the three category terms below are Google results and still stand. The split is consistent enough to act on.
Where a coach describes the task — 'icf acc practice exam', 'icf acc exam practice questions', 'where can I find good ICF PCC exam practice questions' — you are on page one, usually top five, and frequently ahead of both rivals. Where a coach describes the category — 'ICF exam prep' — you sit at #17, on page two, behind the certifying body, Reddit, an independent academy and tandemcoach.co. On the broadest term of the three, 'coaching certification exam preparation', you are not in the top 20 at all; that result set is populated by the certifying body, Pearson VUE and coach-training schools rather than by exam-prep tools.
The read: you have won the bottom of the funnel and conceded the top. Coaches who already know they want practice questions find you. Coaches who are still working out what preparing for an ICF exam involves meet the certifying body, a forum thread, and a training school — and by the time they reach a product decision, an assistant has already framed the choice for them.

A Third of Your Search Traffic Comes From a Term That Is Not Your Business
HighYour single highest-earning search term is 'expert coach' — you rank #1 for it, and it accounts for roughly 35% of your estimated monthly organic visits (27.4 of 78.4). That is not an ICF exam-prep search. It is a generic phrase that happens to match your brand name, and the people typing it are looking for coaches, coaching services and fitness instructors, not a credentialing practice test.
Strip that term out and the business you actually run is running on about 51 visits a month from search. Every one of your genuine buyer terms — 'icf acc practice exam' (70 monthly searches), 'icf acc exam practice questions' (50), 'icf acc mock exam' (40), 'icf practice exam' (40) — is small and concentrated on one page. Your highest-volume ranked term of any kind is 140 monthly searches, and you sit at #49 and #70 for the two terms at that level.
The second positioning signal is language. Eight translated locale paths and ten language alternates are live for a product being assessed in a single English-speaking market, while every ranked keyword we can see is English. That is real maintenance cost carried against demand we cannot find evidence for.
| Term | Monthly searches | Your position | Est. monthly visits | Share of your total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| expert coach (brand homonym) | 90 | #1 | 27.4 | 35% |

CoachCertify Is Building on Demand Ten Times Larger Than Yours
CriticalLook at what your closest rival ranks for rather than where it ranks. CoachCertify holds positions on 'icf core competencies' (880 monthly searches), 'acc certification' (390), 'icf code of ethics' (390), 'icf competencies' (390) and 'icf coaching competencies' (390) — the educational vocabulary of the credential itself. Its positions are poor, between #21 and #33, so today those terms send it almost nothing.
That is the point. The largest search term anywhere in your 56-keyword set is 140 monthly searches, and you rank #49 and #70 on the two terms at that level. CoachCertify has planted itself on demand roughly six times larger and only has to climb; you would have to build the pages first. Those competency and ethics terms are also precisely the vocabulary an AI assistant reaches for when a coach asks what the exam covers — which is where recommendations get formed, one step before the product question.
On the 25 terms where you and CoachCertify both rank, you lead on 15 and it leads on 10, including 'icf acc exam sample questions pdf' at #3 against your #10. Against CredentialPrep you lead on 21 of 23. You are ahead on today's board. The board is being extended in a direction you are not on.

Bright Spots: What Is Already Working and Worth Defending
Bright SpotFour things in this dataset are genuinely strong and should shape the plan rather than be fixed.
You are the strongest commercial brand in the category's AI answers. Across the 'ICF exam prep' AI-answer universe you rank #6 of 20 domains by mentions, with 8 mentions and 350 AI search volume. CoachCertify is #12 with 4 mentions; CredentialPrep does not register as a top-level domain at all. Your own site is also the 5th most-cited source domain in that universe with 45 mentions.
ChatGPT already frames you as the all-rounder. Asked to compare the three of you directly, it opened with ExpertCoach.Co as 'best all-around structured course + exam simulator' and pulled five of its nine citations from your pages. That is the positioning you would have chosen, arrived at unprompted.
You own PCC and MCC. On the PCC practice-question query you rank #9 and neither competitor appears in the top 20. CoachCertify is an ACC-only product by its own description. With the PCC-MCC exam changing in November 2026, this is a vertical with a deadline attached and no rival in it.
Real coaches are recommending you by name. A Reddit thread with 40+ comments links your practice test as the tool the poster passed with; four Facebook posts in ICF credential groups name you, the most recent about three months old. That is the hardest kind of evidence to manufacture and you already have it — it is simply sitting on platforms that carry less weight than the ones AI cites.
| Asset | Evidence | Nearest rival |
|---|---|---|
| Brand rank in category AI answers | #6 of 20 · 8 mentions · 350 AI search volume | CoachCertify #12 · 4 mentions |
| Own domain as a cited source | 5th most-cited source · 45 mentions · 1,900 AI search volume | Behind YouTube, ICF, tandemcoach, coachingoutsidethebox |
| ChatGPT comparison framing | Led the answer as 'best all-around'; 5 of 9 citations yours | CoachCertify framed as ACC-volume-for-money |
| PCC / MCC vertical | #9 organic; both rivals outside top 20 | None contesting |
| Ranked keywords | 56 · 1 at #1 · 4 in top 3 · 17 in top 10 | CoachCertify 46 · 0 at #1 · 2 in top 3 |

Roadmap: From 6.3 to 7.9 in Six Months
Three horizons, ordered by how fast the work pays back
Site Readiness Score
LLM Visibility Score
Horizon 1: Infrastructure (0-30 days)
+0.6 to +0.9 Site Readiness
Close 'Structured Data Stops Exactly Where the Traffic Starts' — the practice-test page and blog index are the two priorities; add named-author identity across the blog to match what CredentialPrep already carries
Clear 'Cookie Banners Are Polluting Every Heading Outline' and repair the ACC page's fragment heading
Resolve the product-subdomain split flagged in 'Rendering, Speed and Bot Access' — decide whether the free tools become indexable pages on the main domain
Audit the eight locale paths against measured demand before spending another month maintaining them
Horizon 2: Content (30-90 days)
+0.7 to +1.0 Site Readiness, +0.4 to +0.7 AI Visibility
Fix 'The Highest-Value Page Is the Thinnest Page' — the practice-test page needs written explanation alongside its 21 images, not fewer images
Build the standing Q&A resource identified in 'First-Mover Advantage: Nobody in This Category Has Built a Q&A Hub' while the category is still empty
Attack the top-of-funnel gap in 'Strong on Practice Intent, Weak on Category Intent' — the competency, ethics and requirements vocabulary CoachCertify has planted itself on
Extend the PCC/MCC lead named in 'Bright Spots' ahead of the November 2026 exam change, while no rival is contesting it
Horizon 3: Authority (3-6 months)
+1.2 to +1.6 AI Visibility
Close the third-party evidence gap behind the AI answers — the certifying body, tandemcoach.co and coachingoutsidethebox.net between them carry 293 mentions in this category's AI answers and none of them mentions you
Open the video surface: 140 mentions and 16,590 AI search volume in this category flow through YouTube and no ExpertCoach channel is indexed
Convert the earned Reddit and Facebook advocacy into a review-platform footprint — CoachCertify's 3-review Trustpilot listing is currently the only trust rating among the three
Move from mentioned to recommended: the placement problem in Q4 (#7) and Q6 (#24) is a citation-weight problem, and it resolves as the outside evidence accumulates

Recommended, Not Just Mentioned?
Your pages are used as a source in 26 of 30 AI answers about ICF exam preparation. The work now is turning a citation into a recommendation — and that is a citation problem, not a website problem.
